From temple town to global travel destination
Minobusan, one of Japan’s three most sacred Buddhist mountains, was founded 750 years ago. Buddhist traditions, cuisine and art remain an important part of daily life in this corner of Yamanashi Prefecture. Gyogakuin Kakurinbo, a temple lodging, has been accommodating travelers for 550 years. We hope to continue for many years to come.

Nitcho Sui eye drops
In honor of the venerable Nitcho, Kakurinbo offers Nitcho Sui eye drops, which are made with the sacred water of Mt. Minobu. They are effective in cleansing and purifying the eyes. It is said that by chanting the Lotus Sutra Namu myoho renge kyo, you will open not only your eyes but also your “mind’s eye,” which will purify your daily life and enrich your mind. These eye drops are effective in cleansing and purifying the eyes.

Temple Beer
Kakurinbo’s Temple Beer was inspired by Trappist beer, which was first brewed to help monasteries in Europe overcome financial difficulties. Kakurinbo’s Temple Beer was introduced as a way of breathing new life into the local community.
